While many suffer from the so-called insomnia or sleep apnea, others may simply not get enough sleep because they're either too busy or don't have sleeping as their top priority.
However, sleeping less than 7 hours a night can really put your health at risk, which is why sleep need to be added on your daily to-do list.
A report published in the USNews looked at a number of studies evaluating the effects from not getting enough sleep. It found that not getting enough sleep not only affects your daytime life, such as being drowsy or getting into a car accident, but affects your health too.
If you sleep under 7 hours a night, you may be more apt to make bad food choices, have an increased blood pressure, be depressed, or you're more likely to have a heart attack. Also, some studies discovered that the fewer hours of sleep people get, the more obese they tend to be, and more likely to be diabetic.
But the most important of all, your death may be nearer. Those who get 5 hours or less per night have approximately 15 percent greater risk of dying - regardless of the cause.
If you're one of these people, maybe you need to re-evaluate your life and make sure you get at least 7 hours of sleep.
